Airbnb users from Russia, Belarus cannot book lodging anywhere

MOSCOW, Apr 5 (PRIME) -- Russian and Belarusian users of the U.S.’ Airbnb, an online marketplace for lodging, primarily homestays for vacation rentals, and tourism activities, can no longer book accommodation anywhere, the service said on Tuesday.

“Bookings in Russia and Belarus, starting from April 4, 2022 and later, were cancelled…booking of lodging and impressions in Russia and Belarus are stopped and guests from these countries will be no longer able to make bookings anywhere else,” the statement read.

Booking calendars in the two countries are blocked, and accommodation of guests for hosts in Russia and Belarus is no longer available.

The company promised to update information as the situation develops.

Airbnb said on March 4 that it paused its activities in Russia and Belarus.
